CurrentReport Blog The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, has revealed that a total of 11,912 candidates have applied for undergraduate degree programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. Adebowale made this disclosure while speaking to journalists during the post-UTME screening exercise on Friday, which began the previous day.
Professor Adebowale, along with other principal officers of the institution, personally oversaw the screening process to ensure smooth conduct. He expressed satisfaction with the exercise, stating that candidates and their parents arrived early at the venue, with provisions made for their convenience.
“I led other principal officers of the university to ensure the success of the exercise. Candidates and their parents had arrived at the venue as early as 6.00 a.m., and the Admissions Committee had arranged chairs and canopies for their convenience,” Adebowale said.
The Vice Chancellor noted that candidates had been instructed to visit the UI Admissions Portal to print their photo cards, which included details about their exam date, time, and venue.
The University of Ibadan remains one of the top choices for prospective students in Nigeria, and the turnout for the 2024/2025 academic session reflects its continued popularity and academic reputation.
