160,000 People Benefited from End of the Year Transport Subsidy – Minister Mr. Dele Alake

CURRENT REPORT More than 160,000 individuals have benefited from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s End of Year Transportation Subsidy Program, according to Mr. Dele Alake, the Chairman of the Presidential Committee overseeing its implementation. Alake, who is also the Minister of Solid Mineral Development, shared the program’s success, highlighting the significant number of passengers recorded by the Nigeria Railway Commission and the Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria. He reported that the Nigerian Railway Commission transported approximately 71,000 passengers, while ALBON successfully transported 77,122 passengers within the same period. The initiative, featuring a 50% discount on road transport and free train journeys, was aimed at enhancing the well-being of Nigerians during the festive season and covered various major inter-state transit hubs. The program is set to conclude on January 4, 2024.
