CURRENT REPORT BLOG tragic incident unfolded today in my neighborhood, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of a pregnant woman and her two children. Allegedly, this devastating event occurred during a dispute involving a policeman and a commercial driver, which tragically ended in catastrophe.
Here’s what transpired: The driver was apprehended by the police and assisted by LASTMA officials. During the journey to the police station, as they reached the Okota roundabout, a critical turn of events took place. The driver made an unexpected decision to change course and headed towards Ago Palace Way. While the vehicle was in motion, a fierce struggle for control of the steering wheel erupted between the policeman and the driver.
Tragically, this struggle led to both of them losing control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with a tricycle, commonly known as a “keke.” Inside the tricycle were a woman, her two children, and the tricycle’s driver. Regrettably, all of them lost their lives in this terrible accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them, and may their souls rest in peace.
