asiwajuCURRENT REPORT BLOG On October 11, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave the green light for the appointment of new leadership within the communication, innovation, and digital economy sectors in Nigeria. President Tinubu’s official spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, confirmed these appointments through a statement. These appointments fall under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.

The newly appointed Chief Executives include Aminu Maida as the EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nkechi Egerton-Idehen as the MD/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi as the DG/CEO of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and Dr. Vincent Olatunji as the National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Additionally, Tola Odeyemi has been named as the new Postmaster General/CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

These appointments align with President Tinubu’s commitment to harness Nigeria’s technological and digital economic capabilities to enhance the nation’s financial inclusion and bolster its economy. Furthermore, President Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of a new Special Adviser for himself to support these initiatives.
