No water, fuel for Gaza until Hamas frees hostages, Israel fumes

CURRENT REPORT BLOG Isreal has issued a stringent ultimatum to Gaza, withholding essential humanitarian aid, including power, water, food, and fuel, until all hostages held by Hamas militants are released. This comes in response to a series of bloody attacks in Israeli communities by Hamas, resulting in numerous hostages taken, marking a significant escalation in the region.

Israel’s Energy Minister, Israel Katz, emphasized that crucial resources won’t be provided until the “abductees” are freed. The situation remains volatile, with Israel Defense Forces launching strikes that caused substantial casualties in Gaza.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed support for Israel during his visit, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to “crush and destroy” Hamas, leading a newly formed unity government.

The UN reported a 30% increase in the number of displaced individuals due to airstrikes, reaching 339,000, with many seeking refuge in UN schools. Palestinian media reported significant casualties, including the brother of Hamas’s military commander and a senior leader from Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
