CURRENT REPORT BLOG Leaders from various factions within the Labour Party criticized Abayomi Arabambi in a statement released in Abuja shortly before the Supreme Court’s final judgment on the 2023 presidential elections. They strongly condemned Arabambi’s continuous and unsubstantiated attacks against their 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi. The leaders had previously warned Arabambi to refrain from making inflammatory and unfounded public statements against Obi, but their appeals went unheeded. They asserted that Peter Obi remained the unquestioned leader of the Labour Party, and they would not tolerate anyone claiming party membership while making false and damaging statements against him.

The statement also emphasized the need for civil restraint and decorum in political discourse and criticized Arabambi for his divisive and destructive approach. Regardless of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the election, Peter Obi was reaffirmed as the party’s leader, and they made it clear that anti-party actions and statements would not be tolerated within their ranks.
