Jigawa spent N500m on public toilets - Commissioner

CURRENT REPORT BLOG The Commissioner of Water Resources in Jigawa State announced that the government has allocated N500 million to enhance sanitation facilities, including latrines in schools, hospitals, markets, and motor parks throughout the state. The state is dedicated to surpassing the national Open Defecation Free (ODF) target by 2025. To achieve this, the government has executed effective policies and programs in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The state is the first and only one in the country declared Open Defecation Free by UNICEF, with the state governor appointed as an ODF Ambassador.
