N10 Billion Fraud: CSO wants EFCC, NSA to reveal identity of indicted military officer - Daily Trust

CURRENT REPORT BLOG Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kayode Ajulo, expressed on Monday that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) appears to have veered off course from its intended purpose, potentially transforming into a political instrument. Ajulo reiterated his plea for President Bola Tinubu to institute a presidential task force aimed at unveiling EFCC officials engaged in corrupt practices. Despite EFCC boss Ola Olukoyede acknowledging the issue of bribery within the agency during his New Year address to staff, Ajulo criticized the lack of concrete action to address the problem. He suggested that if the EFCC proves incapable of self-cleansing, the President should intervene by establishing a task force to conduct thorough integrity tests on the organization.

Speaking on Arise TV, Ajulo expressed surprise that Olukoyede admitted to bribery among investigators without taking immediate measures to identify and remove those involved. Ajulo emphasised the urgency of addressing the situation, proposing that a presidential task force could ensure the necessary corrective actions are taken to uphold the integrity of the EFCC, considering its critical role in the country.
