Stampede During Almsgiving Event in Bauchi State Leaves Four Dead

The incident unfolded at approximately 10am at the premises of Shafa Holdings Company plc along Jos Road on Sunday, sending shockwaves through the community.

Among the casualties, a 17-year-old named Naima Abdullahi is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, highlighting the severity of the situation and the impact it has had on individuals of all ages.

Ahmed Wakili, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the tragic incident, assuring that the situation has been brought under control as of the time of his report. He emphasized the swift response of the police upon receiving the distressing news, with efforts focused on stabilizing the scene and ensuring public safety.

Wakili further stated that the Police Commissioner has urged the public to remain calm in the aftermath of the tragedy, emphasizing the importance of collective composure during such challenging times.
