With Christians set to celebrate Easter nationwide from March 29 to April 1, the FRSC is keen on making this period accident-free. The advice to motorists comes as a crucial reminder of the need to prioritize safety while traveling during the festivities.

Mr. Anthony Uga stressed the significance of driving within prescribed speed limits and avoiding overspeeding, which can lead to avoidable crashes. He highlighted the mandatory installation of speed limit devices for all vehicles as a proactive measure to manage speed effectively.

Addressing speeding as a core focus of FRSC’s 2024 Corps Corporate Goals, Uga mentioned the agency’s commitment to robust public enlightenment campaigns. These initiatives aim to educate motorists about the importance of responsible driving and adherence to traffic regulations.

In anticipation of increased traffic on routes such as the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during Easter, the FRSC plans to deploy motorized patrols. This proactive measure is geared towards preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of road users.

Uga cautioned motorists, particularly during the festive period, against engaging in dangerous driving practices such as drunk driving. Such behaviors not only endanger the lives of drivers and passengers but also pose risks to other road users.
