CurrentReport Blog In a recent development in Edo State, the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Diaspora Affairs, Uyi Oduwa-Malaka, has been stripped of her honorary chieftaincy title, the Uzoyare of Ozalla Kingdom. The decision, made by the Onotare of Ozalla Kingdom, HRH Nathaniel Igelugbo Omogbai, reflects the importance of upholding cultural traditions and respect for traditional leadership.

According to a statement issued by the Palace Spokesman, Osumah Obaze, the revocation of Oduwa-Malaka’s title serves as a deterrent against any actions that may disrespect the esteemed throne. The statement outlined several accusations against Oduwa-Malaka, including openly insulting the Onotare and failing to pay obeisance during a significant cultural event. Similarly, George Ohioma, bestowed with the title Ozemevboya of Ozalla Kingdom, faced revocation due to alleged disrespect and physical assault towards the Onotare and palace secretary.
