CurrentReport Blog In a heartfelt gesture of support, Zamfara Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, recently extended a helping hand to the families of deceased police personnel. Presenting cheques totaling N50.1 million on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the commissioner aimed to alleviate the financial burden faced by these families who lost their loved ones in the line of duty.
According to a statement by ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson of the State police command, the cheques formed part of the IGP’s initiative under the Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme. This initiative is designed to provide financial assistance to families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their nation.
During the cheque distribution, Commissioner Muhammad Shehu Dalijan expressed gratitude to the IGP for his compassionate gesture. He urged the recipients to utilize the funds responsibly to cater to the needs of their families, emphasizing the importance of prudent financial management during challenging times.
The beneficiaries of this benevolent act also expressed their appreciation. A beneficiary, while receiving her cheque, conveyed her gratitude to Commissioner Muhammad Shehu Dalijan for the compassionate support extended to them during their time of need. Mr. Yahaya Umar, speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, commended both the Inspector General of Police and the State Police Command for their unwavering support and assistance.
In his remarks, Mr. Yahaya Umar assured that the funds received would be utilized judiciously, reflecting the trust placed in them and their commitment to honouring the memory of their fallen heroes.
