CurrentReport Blog The Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has announced a staggering influx of applications for the limited teaching positions available in the state’s public secondary schools. With over 32,000 candidates vying for just 1,000 teaching jobs, TESCOM has instituted an online examination to ensure a fair and rigorous selection process.

In a statement issued by Goodluck Akinyomi, Head of the Press and Public Relations Unit at TESCOM, it was revealed that the online recruitment examination will commence on Thursday at 9:00 AM and conclude at 9:00 AM on Friday. This ten-minute test will be a critical weeding mechanism to streamline the vast pool of applicants.

Akinyomi emphasized that inclusivity remains a priority, as all applicants, including those physically challenged, will participate in the online examination simultaneously. However, accommodations are made for visually impaired applicants, who will take the examination at a later, more suitable date.

Mrs. Morayo Bayo-Philip, the Administrative Secretary of TESCOM, reiterated the commission’s commitment to a merit-based hiring process. She assured the public that no appointments would be influenced by favoritism, thus maintaining the integrity and high academic standards of Ondo State’s secondary education system.

“The education of our children is paramount,” Bayo-Philip declared. “We are steadfast in our mission to employ highly qualified individuals with proven integrity. We expect candidates to score at least seventy percent in the examination to proceed further in the selection process.”

Applicants are reminded to log on to the examination portal using their unique usernames and passwords, which they created during the application process. The exam, which will only take ten minutes, aims to assess the fundamental competencies necessary for teaching in Ondo State’s public secondary schools.

This online examination initiative is a strategic move by TESCOM to manage the unprecedented number of applicants efficiently while ensuring that the most capable and deserving candidates are given the opportunity to contribute to the state’s educational sector. As the examination date approaches, applicants are advised to prepare diligently to meet the commission’s high standards.
