(Elder) Udeme Otong, and members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly celebrate their first legislative year on Sunday, Governor Pastor Umo Eno extended his heartfelt congratulations and praise for their collaborative efforts over the past year.
In a goodwill message released through his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno highlighted the strong and productive relationship between the Executive and Legislative branches. This partnership, he noted, has been instrumental in driving the state’s development, particularly in rural areas.
Governor Eno emphasized the significant strides made in the past year, crediting the House’s leadership under Speaker Otong. “The robust collaboration that has existed between the Executive and the Legislative arms of government has been a cornerstone of our progress,” Eno stated. He praised the House for its efficiency and responsiveness in passing people-centric bills aligned with the ARISE Agenda, which have since become laws.
Reflecting on the Assembly’s achievements, Governor Eno lauded their expeditious handling of the 2024 Budget, which was passed in record time. This swift action underscores the Assembly’s commitment to advancing the state’s growth and addressing the needs of its citizens.
As the Assembly embarks on its second legislative year, Governor Eno expressed confidence in the ongoing partnership between the two branches. “We came to serve the people of Akwa Ibom State and deepen the narratives of our development,” he affirmed. He assured that the Executive Arm would continue to count on the Assembly’s support to further the state’s development agenda.
