The denial comes after a heated altercation between the couple and has sparked conversations among fans and housemates alike.
The controversy began last Thursday when Chinwe and Zion had a public fallout. Chinwe accused Zion of not supporting her during her dispute with fellow housemates Onyeka and Chizoba. During a subsequent conversation with DJ Flo, Chinwe alleged that she had financed their entry into the Big Brother Naija house, a statement that quickly gained attention.
In a surprising turn during Sunday night’s eviction show, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu directly addressed the claim. He asked Chinwe, “Why did you say you sponsored Zion to the house?”
Chinwe, however, refuted the claim, stating that her words were misunderstood. She clarified that she never said she sponsored Zion financially but rather that she was his source of encouragement, especially when he was hesitant about joining the show.
“I didn’t sponsor Zion to the house,” Chinwe explained. “What I meant was that I encouraged him to come because he wasn’t too excited about the idea initially.”
