The 23-year-old beauty queen made the decision after facing intense criticism following her participation in the Miss South Africa pageant.
Chidimma, who spoke on Arise 360, shared that she often found herself overwhelmed by the negative feedback, prompting her to leave the platform. “I’m a comment reader, and I could spend 80% of my day reading comments. It became toxic for me,” she explained, adding that deleting the app brought her relief.
Her situation became even more complicated when the South African Department of Home Affairs (DHA) alleged that her mother was involved in identity theft and fraud, further fueling the online backlash.
Despite the challenges, Chidimma expressed gratitude to her supporters and noted that she still uses Instagram, though she has limited comments to protect her well-being.
