CAF Appoints Malawian Philip Nkhakananga as Referee for Super Eagles’ AFCON Qualifier Against Libya

CurrentReport Blog The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Malawian referee Philip Nkhakananga as the centre referee for the Super Eagles’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matchday three encounter against Libya. The match is set to take place on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Nkhakananga will be supported by his compatriots Clemence Kanduku and Joseph Nyauti, who will serve as assistant referees one and two, respectively. Keabetswe Dintwa from Botswana has been appointed as the fourth official for the crucial fixture.

Other key officials for the game include Munkaila Nassam Adam from Ghana, who will act as the match commissioner, while Issaka Boubacar from Niger and Mayowa Akingbemisilu will serve as referee assessor and broadcast venue manager, respectively.

The Super Eagles will host the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in a match that is scheduled to kick off at 5 pm. The encounter is a key fixture as both teams vie for a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
