CurrentReport Blog Burkina Faso have secured their place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following a 2-0 win against Burundi in a qualifying fixture on Sunday. The Stallions’ goals were scored by Bertrand Traore and Mohamed Konate in Abidjan, sealing their qualification for the tournament.

The victory, along with a draw against Senegal and wins over Malawi and Burundi, ensures Burkina Faso’s 14th AFCON appearance. Their best performance came in 2013 when they finished as runners-up to Nigeria in South Africa.

Senegal, currently second in the group with seven points, can join Burkina Faso in Morocco next year if they secure a victory over Malawi on Tuesday. Burkina Faso lead the group with 10 points, while Burundi and Malawi trail with three points and none, respectively.

Although Morocco qualifies automatically as the host nation, they are participating in the qualifiers to gain competitive match experience ahead of the tournament.
