CurrentReport Blog Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has lifted the suspension on the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order, Fidelis Mnyim. The announcement was made during a state executive council meeting in Makurdi on Monday.
Attorney General Mnyim was initially suspended on October 23 for including Benue State in a legal challenge questioning the legitimacy of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The governor’s office noted that Mnyim’s unilateral decision was made without proper authorization.
According to Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mnyim was reinstated after he withdrew Benue State from the list of states involved in the lawsuit, meeting the conditions required for his reinstatement.
