CurrentReport Blog The Nigerian military has confirmed that its troops under Operation Udo Ka neutralized several suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), during an operation in Imo State.
According to a statement shared on the Nigerian Army Headquarters’ official Facebook page on Monday, the operation was conducted along the Ekeututu–Ihiteunansa Road in Orsu Local Government Area of the state.
Details of the Operation
The military reported that troops encountered suspected IPOB/ESN operatives during the mission. In the ensuing confrontation, several of the suspects were neutralized, while a range of items, including pump-action guns, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), IED-making materials, and charms, were recovered.
Leadership Commendation
Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, the Acting Chief of Army Staff, commended the troops for their bravery and urged them to sustain the momentum in dismantling criminal networks in the region.
He also reassured residents of the South-East to continue their daily activities without fear, emphasizing the military’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the area.

The Nigerian military has intensified operations against IPOB and ESN in recent months, citing their alleged involvement in violent activities and disruption of public order in the South-East region.
