CurrentReport Blog In preparation for this year’s Christmas celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has deployed 1,750 officers across the state to ensure watertight security. The deployment aims to guarantee a peaceful and crime-free holiday season while safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure.
This development was announced in a statement by the Commandant of the NSCDC Osun State Command, Igbalawole Sotiyo, on Thursday. He assured residents of the state of comprehensive security measures during the festive period.
“I have given a marching order to all Divisional Officers across the state to deploy personnel to worship centres, marketplaces, recreation centres, and other identified flashpoints,” Sotiyo stated. “I also charged them to work in synergy with other sister agencies to provide adequate security in Osun State during and after the celebration.”
Commandant Sotiyo warned individuals planning to disrupt the peace to reconsider their actions or face the full consequences. He also emphasized the need for personnel to remain civil yet firm in discharging their duties, ensuring a balance between professionalism and public trust.
The NSCDC boss urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods to the nearest security agency for prompt action.
As the festive season approaches, the proactive measures by the Osun Command underscore their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and properties across the state. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and cooperative with security personnel to achieve a safe and enjoyable Christmas celebration.
