CurrentReport Blog A bomb explosion rocked the Bassa community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State on Thursday morning, leaving one person dead and four others injured. The victims were reportedly on their way to their farms when the incident occurred.
Eyewitnesses revealed that three of the injured lost their legs in the blast and are currently receiving medical treatment at the IBB Specialist Hospital.
Ahmed Almustapha, a resident and relative of three of the victims, confirmed the tragic incident, stating that this marks the second bomb explosion in Bassa this month.
Previous Incident in Bassa Community
Almustapha recalled a similar explosion two weeks ago, which also claimed one life as the victim was en route to their farmland.
“This recurring tragedy has left the community in fear and despair. We urgently call on the Niger State Government and the federal government to intervene and provide assistance to help us resume our livelihoods,” Almustapha appealed.

The repeated explosions have heightened concerns over the safety of residents in Shiroro Local Government Area, with many fearing for their lives and economic well-being. Community members are urging authorities to address the security challenges and ensure the safety of citizens.
