Over 100 Osun Obas Endorse Governor Ademola Adeleke for Second Term

CurrentReport Blog In a show of unanimous support, more than 100 traditional rulers (Obas) from Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo federal constituency in Osun State have endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office.

The endorsement was made during an end-of-year summit convened by Bamidele Salam, the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives. The event, held on December 29, 2024, highlighted Governor Adeleke’s achievements and his commitment to sustainable development across the state.

Governor Adeleke’s Achievements Praised

During the summit, Rep. Salam detailed Governor Adeleke’s impactful initiatives over the last two years. Key accomplishments include:

  • Road Infrastructure: Improved connectivity through significant road rehabilitation projects.
  • Education: Investment in school infrastructure and quality learning.
  • Healthcare: Expansion of health services to reach more communities.
  • Agriculture: Programmes aimed at boosting agricultural productivity.
  • Human Development: Empowerment schemes tailored to improve livelihoods.

Salam assured attendees that Governor Adeleke’s administration would embark on more transformative projects in 2025, including rural electrification, school construction, and additional road rehabilitations.

Royal Fathers Commend Adeleke’s Inclusive Leadership

In a communique read by the Alawo of Awo, Oba Abdulrasak Taiwo Adegboye, the Obas praised Governor Adeleke for his respect for traditional institutions and his efforts to include them in governance.

“Governor Adeleke’s inclusive approach has strengthened the bond between the government and the people, fostering trust and development,” Oba Adegboye stated.

The traditional rulers also commended Rep. Salam for his dedication to the constituency, highlighting his role in facilitating developmental projects and maintaining an open-door policy.

Strong Support from Stakeholders

Other speakers at the summit, including the Olukotun of Ikotun, Ologobi of Ogobi, Alara of Ara, Olowu of Owu Ile, and Olokinni of Okinni, expressed their unwavering support for Governor Adeleke’s re-election bid. They emphasized that his policies have significantly benefited their communities.

Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), including the State Deputy Chairman, Alhaji YK Idowu, and Elder Sunday Atidade, also addressed the gathering, urging continued unity and collaboration for the state’s growth.
