Governor Alex Otti Receives PDP Defectors into Labour Party

The new LP members were formally received by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, in a grand ceremony where they were presented with the party flag by Isiala Ngwa South LP Chairman, Smart Ogbonna.

Welcoming the defectors, Governor Otti reassured them that the Labour Party is an inclusive political platform that embraces all Nigerians committed to good governance and democratic values. He praised Hon. Dennis for his role in bringing a large number of his supporters into the party, promising that they would not face any discrimination but instead enjoy equal status with long-standing LP members.

“The Labour Party is open to all Nigerians who believe in good governance. We are here to serve the people, especially the poor and less privileged, by delivering democracy dividends to all,” Otti stated.

Hon. Rowland Dennis Explains Move to Labour Party

Speaking on his decision to leave the PDP, Hon. Rowland Dennis cited Governor Otti’s outstanding leadership and performance across the state as his motivation for joining the Labour Party.

“I was attracted to the Labour Party because of the excellent work Governor Otti is doing in Abia State. His leadership and commitment to development inspired my decision to join the LP,” Dennis explained.

Otti Dismisses 2027 Election Speculations

Addressing rumors that Hon. Dennis’ defection was linked to the 2027 elections, Governor Otti dismissed such claims, stating that his priority remains delivering on his mandate rather than focusing on future political contests.

“We are not thinking about 2027 right now. Our goal is to fulfill our promises and improve the lives of Abia residents,” he affirmed.
