Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, Confirms Rescue of 59 Kidnapped Victims

The victims were freed through the combined efforts of the Kaduna State Government, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and various security agencies. Governor Uba Sani shared the heartwarming news on his verified Facebook page, expressing his emotional farewell to the victims.

Upon their arrival in Kaduna, the released individuals were promptly accommodated at the Kaduna State Shelter Home, where they received medical treatment and psychosocial therapy. After undergoing 10 days of intensive care and monitoring, the victims were certified both medically and psychologically fit to rejoin their families and return to their normal lives.

Governor Uba Sani emphasized that the victims expressed strong determination to put the traumatic experience behind them, focusing on rebuilding their lives and businesses. As a gesture of appreciation for their resilience and courage, the Kaduna State Government has pledged to provide the victims with start-up funds and tools to help them begin afresh.

The Governor reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state. He highlighted the success of the Kaduna Peace Model, which has been praised for its innovative and results-oriented approach to peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Governor Uba Sani further reassured the public that the government would continue to take all necessary measures to maintain the prevailing peace and security in the region, despite attempts by some to politicize security matters.
