FCT Police Commissioner Olatunji Disu made this revelation during a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, highlighting the command’s ongoing efforts to combat crime within the territory.

According to Commissioner Disu, the arrested suspects are currently undergoing thorough profiling and screening. Those found guilty will be charged in court. The 300 arrested suspects include 59 individuals caught for armed robbery, 10 for kidnapping and acting as informants, 16 for cultism, and seven for kidnapping activities.

Proactive Operations and Raids

The neutralizations and arrests occurred during a series of special operations and raids conducted by police operatives, targeting known criminal hotspots. Disu emphasized that these proactive measures were aimed at disrupting the operations of criminal elements across key corridors within the FCT.

One of the significant actions taken by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit was the clearance of known bandit routes and kidnappers’ hideouts. Key areas targeted in these operations included the FCT–Kaduna border, where raids were carried out at Gidan-Dogo village and Kweri Forest. Similarly, operations were executed at the FCT–Niger border, specifically in Gauraka Forest, and Sardauna Forest near the FCT–Nasarawa border.

Ongoing Fight Against Banditry and Kidnapping

Commissioner Disu reiterated that the operations were part of a broader strategy to combat banditry, kidnapping, and armed robbery within the territory. The police command is committed to taking decisive actions against criminal elements and ensuring the safety of FCT residents.

With these recent operations, the FCT Police Command continues to strengthen its resolve in maintaining law and order across the capital, sending a strong message to criminals that they will face the full wrath of the law.
