We All Do It’ – Senator Dickson Leaks Details About Wike’s Political Gameb47fc80f30034a80b70172b9f95de9ee 1

According to a report from Arise TV on Thursday, March 20, Seriake Dickson, the Senator representing Bayelsa West and former Governor of Bayelsa State, offered insights into the intricate dynamics of political leadership transitions in Nigeria. He specifically addressed the recent appointment of Fubara as governor by Nyesom Wike, stating, “We all do it,” referring to the common practice of political leaders facilitating successors.
Dickson elaborated on the nature of these transitions, noting that while some are executed smoothly, others can lead to significant disputes. “Sometimes it doesn’t go well; other times, we manage,” he remarked, highlighting the unpredictability inherent in political relationships. He emphasized that such transitions often bring out varying responses from leaders, particularly when faced with perceived disrespect or ingratitude from those they have supported.

The senator cautioned against interpreting the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State as a tribal conflict. He stated, “I don’t want this crisis to be interpreted as some tribal conflict, which it is not. It is essentially a political dispute between a godfather and a godson.”

Reflecting on his own experiences, Dickson acknowledged the emotional toll of political disagreements. “You may be disrespected, you may not be appreciated, there may be ingratitude, there may even be sheer wickedness and envy by the people you have helped to build,” he noted. Despite these challenges, he stressed the importance of maintaining composure and not allowing conflicts to escalate to the detriment of political institutions.
