Flying Eagles Set for Final Preparations in Cairo Ahead of 2025 U-20 AFCON

CurrentReport Blog Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will depart Abuja for Cairo this weekend as they enter the final phase of preparations for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The team, led by head coach Aliyu Zubairu, recently arrived in Abuja from Katsina, where they concluded the second phase of their training camp. The seven-time African champions are scheduled to spend one week in Cairo, fine-tuning tactics and squad cohesion ahead of the continental showdown.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group B, where they will battle former champions Tunisia, as well as Kenya and Morocco. The Flying Eagles will kick off their campaign against Tunisia on Saturday, April 28.

The 2025 U-20 AFCON also serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, making the stakes even higher for Nigeria’s promising youngsters.
