CurrentReport Blog The Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Mamman Mike Ousman (SAN), stated on Wednesday that it is difficult for President Bola Tinubu to overcome the numerous challenges facing Nigeria within just one year. Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the ACF’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Kaduna, Ousman highlighted the enormity of the obstacles President Tinubu inherited.

“We have much respect for President Tinubu. We recognize the fact that one year is a short time with which he can transform the country,” Ousman remarked. He emphasized the ACF’s awareness of the substantial hurdles Tinubu faced upon assuming office and acknowledged the President’s efforts in addressing these issues.

Ousman praised Tinubu’s initiatives, noting, “He is doing his best through various outfits and agencies like police and military in order to subdue and do away with terrorism and banditry.” He further reiterated the ACF’s appreciation for the milestones Tinubu has achieved so far, especially in combating security threats.

The Chairman stressed the ACF’s readiness to support President Tinubu’s administration, stating, “The country belongs to all of us. We believe if we give the president our support, from the 19 states, the country would be better off for it.” This statement underscores the ACF’s commitment to national unity and development.

On the issue of State Police, Ousman mentioned that the ACF had been invited to submit a memorandum to the House of Representatives. This initiative aims to foster veritable resolutions and amendments concerning State Police. “They were here a few weeks ago and formed a committee. We are mindful of the fact that other regions have their positions, and 15 thematic points have already been submitted to the National Assembly,” he added.

Regarding the expected outcomes of the NEC meeting, Ousman emphasized that the forum’s discussions are focused on promoting the interests of people in the 19 Northern states within the broader context of Nigerian sovereignty. This aligns with the ACF’s mission to enhance the socio-economic and political development of Northern Nigeria.

In conclusion, while acknowledging the substantial challenges facing President Tinubu, the ACF reaffirmed its support for the President’s efforts and its commitment to contributing positively to Nigeria’s development.
