CURRENT REPORT BLOG The key officers of the National Assembly will travel to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire to support the Nigerian team in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, ahead of their crucial quarterfinal matchup against the Palancas Negras of Angola.
Senator Kawu Sumaila, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, disclosed this information to reporters on Wednesday in Abuja.
In addition to the key officers, he said, the joint committees of the National Assembly on sports will also go to Abidjan to cheer on the Super Eagles.
“I am happy with the performance of the Nigerian team at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
“The principal officers of the National Assembly and the two Committees on Sports will also be in Cote d’Ivoire to watch the quarter finals with Angola,” Sumaila said.
Speaking on the fate of the Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, the lawmaker said “we will look at it after the competition, am sure of victory for the Super Eagles against Angola”.
