The dispute began when Rufai suggested that the Nigerian economy declined after President Tinubu took office, arguing that it coincided with subsidy removal. Onokpasa accused Rufai of misrepresenting facts and rudeness, threatening to leave the studio. Despite the exchange, the question went unanswered as Onokpasa found it insulting. Rufai accused Onokpasa of trying to evade the question.
