CurrentReport Blog The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed the newly-formed coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar aimed at unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to journalists after a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna State on Friday, Ganduje insisted that the ruling party remains confident and unshaken despite the emerging political alliance.

“We are not worried at all. We came to pay our respects to the former president and also to update him on the achievements of our great party since his departure,” Ganduje said.

The APC Chairman’s remarks come in response to a high-profile political meeting involving Atiku, former governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), and Gabriel Suswam (Benue), who also visited Buhari in Kaduna.

The meeting has sparked widespread speculation about a grand opposition coalition seeking to challenge President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

However, Ganduje brushed off the move, calling it a recycled strategy bound to fail.

“That visit is of no concern to us. It’s just another attempt at repeating history, but it won’t work,” Ganduje said.

“What they are trying to build is not viable. Some particles simply cannot come together.”

The APC chairman emphasized that the party is focused on internal consolidation and preparing strategically for the 2027 elections.
