CurrentReport Blog The Bauchi State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of N96.676 billion for the 2024 fiscal year. The approval came during the House plenary session following the adoption of the report by the House Committee on Appropriations.
This supplementary budget is designed to address gaps in the initial 2024 budget, particularly in response to changing economic conditions. It also aims to provide additional funds for unforeseen expenditures and ongoing as well as new development projects across the state.
The Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, Habibu Umar, emphasized the importance of regular performance reporting by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). He warned that any underperforming revenue lines might be excluded from the 2025 budget.
Umar further recommended that the House issue a letter of commendation to the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport for their exceptional presentation and defense of the ministry’s 2024 budget performance.
