The Peoples Democratic Party’s Ademola Adeleke has been affirmed as the Governor of Osun State by the Supreme Court in Abuja on Tuesday. This judgement upheld an earlier decision made by a three-member panel of the appellate court, led by Mohammed Shuaibu, which confirmed Adeleke’s victory while nullifying the judgement of the election petition tribunal. The election petition tribunal had earlier nullified the governor’s victory in January of this year. Adegboyega Oyetola, the immediate-past governor of the state, filed a petition challenging Adeleke’s victory.
