CURRENT REPORT BLOG Minister of Works, David Umahi, has boldly declared that roads constructed during his tenure will remain sturdy for a remarkable fifty years before requiring maintenance. In an exclusive interview on Channels Television, aired on August 24, Umahi highlighted his commitment to employing innovative "concrete technology" for constructing high-quality roads.

Umahi expressed concern over the premature deterioration of roads, emphasizing that the typical lifespan of roads currently hovers around five to seven years, a situation he aims to rectify. He noted his decisive action to reclaim all "no objections" submitted to the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), indicating a shift towards a more climate-specific approach to road construction.

In collaboration with state governors, Umahi envisions a revolutionary transformation through the deployment of concrete technology. He asserted that this approach, endorsed by President Bola Tinubu, is poised to revolutionize road infrastructure in Nigeria. Umahi firmly assured Nigerians that roads constructed using this pioneering technology will endure for half a century without requiring maintenance, resulting in significant cost savings and efficient resource allocation during his tenure.
