The finale kicked off with a powerful performance of John Legend’s ‘Glory’ by the top 10 contestants, setting an electrifying tone for the night. Progress, the Nigerian Idol Season 7 champion, graced the stage alongside the Bigi Idol winner, while Victory Gbakara, Season 8’s victor, performed an original piece he penned before his season’s finale.
Guest performers Chike and Simi, along with the top 3 finalists, delivered riveting performances, heightening the anticipation before the winner was announced. Chima, known for his onstage charisma and vocal dexterity, has consistently impressed judges 9ice, Omawumi, and Ric Hassani throughout the competition.
Omawumi highlighted Chima’s remarkable journey, stating, “Chima was in a competition with himself,” underscoring his extraordinary talent and growth during the show. Specializing in jazz and soul music, Chima’s goal was to inspire others and showcase his vocal prowess on the Nigerian Idol platform. Twelve weeks later, he succeeded beyond expectations.
