CurrentReport Blog The defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the party and its full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’sadministration.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Wednesday, CPC core members debunked reports of a potential defection, labeling such claims as “mischievous” and aimed at creating disunity within the party and the nation.

The statement, signed by Senator U.T. Al-Makura and Osita Okechukwu, emphasized the group’s enduring dedication to the APC and its progressive agenda, asserting that CPC remains a “vital pillar” of the ruling party.

“We wish to state categorically that we have neither left the APC nor do we intend to leave,” the statement read. “We remain integral to the APC and are fully aligned with its leadership and vision.”

The CPC bloc praised President Tinubu’s economic and governance reforms, acknowledging the challenges but urging Nigerians to be patient as the benefits unfold. The group also called for improved internal communication within the APC to address grievances and promote unity.

The bloc appealed to party leadership to scale up engagement with members at all levels, stressing the importance of inclusivity, unity, and democratic consolidation.

“At this critical point in Nigeria’s democratic journey, it is imperative for all APC members—especially those with deep roots in the party’s formation—to work together to preserve its legacy,” the statement concluded.
