Deputy Superintendent of Corrections, 15 Others Abducted on Lokoja-Enugu Road

Ogbu, who serves as the unit commander of the Armed Squad at the Medium-Security Custodial Centre in Minna, Niger State, was reportedly traveling in an 18-seater commercial bus along the Lokoja-Enugu road when the incident occurred.

The spokesperson for the correctional command, Rabiu Mohammed, confirmed the abduction and stated that 15 other commuters on the bus were also taken. The authorities, including the police and the Department of State Services (DSS), have been notified and are investigating the incident.

Efforts are reportedly underway to secure the release of the victims. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction as of now.

The Lokoja-Enugu road, a key transportation route, has recently seen a surge in criminal activities, raising concerns about the safety of travelers.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as investigations continue.
