CurrentReport Blog In a significant breakthrough, the Department of State Security (DSS), in collaboration with the Kano Hisbah Board, has successfully apprehended a 17-year-old girl and her sponsor in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old child, Aisha, from Nguru, Yobe State.

The DSS Kano office revealed that Hisbah officials arrested the 17-year-old suspect (name withheld) after observing suspicious behavior that suggested she had no legitimate connection to the child. During questioning, the girl confessed that she was coerced into abducting the child by a man she knew as a groundnut seller near her home. He had assured her that she would not face any repercussions for her actions.

Further investigations led DSS operatives to track and arrest the man, who subsequently confessed to his involvement in the kidnapping. He revealed that this was his third successful child abduction in Nguru and admitted to being part of a larger cartel that targets children across various states.
