CurrentReport Blog In a recent statement issued by Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, concerning Nigeria’s current economic challenges, he has unequivocally stated that President Bola Tinubu cannot perform miracles to alleviate the nation’s economic woes. According to Ayodele, while there might be a glimmer of hope towards the end of next year, immediate relief seems unlikely.
Ayodele’s remarks, conveyed through his media aide Osho Oluwatosin, underscore the urgent need for the government to take decisive action to address the root causes of the economic downturn. He cautioned that failure to heed this advice could exacerbate the situation further, leading to dire consequences for Nigerians.
The spiritual leader did not mince words in apportioning blame, pointing fingers at both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for failing the nation. However, he emphasized that a significant portion of the responsibility falls on Tinubu, particularly as the economic situation worsened under his watch.
Ayodele’s analysis suggests that the government’s failure to heed counsel and implement effective measures has contributed to the prolonged economic challenges facing the country. He highlighted the need for proactive and transparent governance, criticizing the haphazard distribution of palliatives by government agencies as symptomatic of broader systemic issues.
Moreover, Ayodele questioned the timing and efficacy of recent palliative efforts, particularly those by customs officials, suggesting that a lack of proper planning and execution has undermined their impact. He called for a more equitable and efficient distribution mechanism that bypasses middlemen and ensures the timely delivery of assistance to all states.
