Expressing his preference for indigenous coaching talent, Erhunmeunsee highlighted the advantages of having coaches who are deeply familiar with the local players and their progression. He named notable Nigerian coaches such as Nduka Ugbade, Emmanuel Amunike, and Austin Eguavoen, emphasizing their capabilities and understanding of the game.

Drawing attention to the success of an indigenous coach in leading a host country to victory in the AFCON tournament, Erhunmeunsee underscored the importance of local expertise in understanding and nurturing the talent pool effectively. He praised the strategic approach and tactical prowess of Peseiro, the outgoing coach, for guiding Nigeria to a commendable runner-up position in the prestigious tournament.
