CurrentReport Blog The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the recovery of over N248 billion in the past year, along with £53,000 and €172,000. Wilson Uwajaren, EFCC’s Director of Public Affairs, disclosed these achievements on Thursday, showcasing the anti-graft agency’s commitment to tackling financial crimes and enhancing transparency.
Additionally, Uwajaren revealed that €5,000 was recovered for victims of crime in Spain as part of the commission’s international collaboration efforts. With an intensified focus on rapid response, EFCC aims to reduce cybercrime cases significantly.
The EFCC has also achieved more than 35 convictions for Naira abuse at social events, reinforcing efforts to protect Nigeria’s currency. In further developments, the EFCC plans to establish three new directorates in Ekiti, Katsina, and Anambra states to expand its anti-corruption reach across the country.
