Ekiti Governor Oyebanji Reaffirms Commitment to Rural Development at Isan Day Event

The governor made this assertion on Saturday during the 32nd edition of the Isan Day celebration and the launch of a ₦250 million development fund in Isan Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area.

Rural Development Policy to Unlock Community Potential

Represented by Deputy Governor Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, Oyebanji emphasized that his administration’s strategy ensures no town is left behind.

“Our love for community development is evident in the even distribution of projects across the three senatorial districts. We are committed to ensuring that no town suffers neglect,” he stated.

Highlighting specific initiatives, Oyebanji mentioned:

  • Construction of intra and inter-town roads.
  • Development of rural access roads to boost agriculture.
  • Establishment of cluster farming in Ipao and Emure.
  • Promotion of arts, culture, and tourism.

The governor also called on communities to embrace self-development efforts that align with government initiatives to achieve sustainable growth.

Peace and Unity: Pillars of Sustainable Development

Oyebanji underscored the importance of peace and unity, especially as Isan Ekiti hosts significant institutions such as the Ekiti State Polytechnic and the Nigerian Army College.

“Your town must maintain its legacy of peace to attract more dividends of democracy,” he said.

Commendation from Former Governor Fayemi

Former Governor Kayode Fayemi lauded Oyebanji for his remarkable performance in two years, describing him as a pride to the progressive political fold.

“The governor has done excellently well through various projects. Development is a gradual process, and I believe he will address pending needs in due course,” Fayemi remarked.

Onisan of Isan Appreciates Leadership Efforts

The Onisan of Isan Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, expressed gratitude to Oyebanji and other contributors for their dedication to peace, unity, and the town’s development.

The Isan Day celebration highlighted the state government’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and underscored the synergy between leadership and community efforts in driving sustainable development.
