CURRENT REPORT BLOG On Tuesday, while speaking on the killing of the two traditional rulers from his state, House of Representatives Spokesman Akin Rotimi broke down in tears.
He disclosed that on Monday, unidentified gunmen assassinated the traditional rulers, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, and Oba Olatunji Samuel Olusola, the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti.
In order to improve security and prevent a recurrence of these heinous acts, the House decided to implore the Chief of Army Staff to redeploy the soldiers to the outpost along the Oke-Ako area.
Additionally, the House requested that more officers be sent to Ekiti North 1 and that the perpetrators of the heinous crimes be apprehended and prosecuted.
This request was made to the Inspector General of Police, the Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other security agencies.
The House also observed a minute of silence in honour of the deceased.
