CurrentReport Blog Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has firmly denied any association with controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Falana clarified that he has never had any business dealings with Bobrisky, and the crossdresser only communicated with his son, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz.

The controversy emerged after a blogger, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, shared an audio recording alleging that Falana sought a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for N10 million. However, Otse appeared before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions earlier this week, where he publicly apologized to Falana for the unfounded accusations.

Falana, well-known for his legal advocacy, revealed that he has assisted at least 280 convicted individuals in receiving pardons, without ever demanding or receiving payment. He stated, “Neither I nor my law firm has ever taken a dime in exchange for legal assistance.”

Falana also shared details of a conversation between his son Falz and Bobrisky. According to him, Bobrisky contacted Falz on May 4, 2024, requesting N3 million to secure placement in the VIP section of the prison. Falz, however, refused to assist and urged Bobrisky to follow proper procedures.

Falana emphasized, “Bobrisky never spoke to me; I do not know him. The person who reached out to my son was asking for assistance, but when he couldn’t get what he wanted, rumors started to spread, falsely implicating me.”

The senior lawyer condemned the defamatory remarks and maintained his focus on his legal work, dismissing the baseless claims circulating online.
