CURRENT REPORT BLOG In a sad turn of events, Oladeinde Arogbofa, the former Chief of Staff (CoS) to Nigeria’s ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 72. A retired Brigadier General, Arogbofa breathed his last on Saturday morning, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication.
Born on November 10, 1952, in Oka-Akoko, Ondo State, Arogbofa embarked on a distinguished military career, being commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1973. His tenure as CoS to President Jonathan spanned from February 10, 2014, to May 29, 2015, during which he played a pivotal role in the administration.
Arogbofa’s educational journey was equally illustrious, with him being an alumnus of renowned institutions such as Obafemi Awolowo University, Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Alabama, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, the University of Lagos, and the University of Ibadan.
This vast academic background underscored his multifaceted approach to leadership and management.
Until his demise, Arogbofa served as the Chairman of the Centre for Research, Information Management and Media Development (CRIMMD), showcasing his continued commitment to contributing to societal growth and development.
