CurrentlyReport Blog Less than two weeks before the upcoming Edo State governorship election, four key aides to Governor Godwin Obaseki have tendered their resignations. These former Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) to the governor also announced their departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to reports from DAILY POST.

Among those who resigned are Osayande Emenya, Henry Osaheni Ukato, Efosa Edo-Osagie, and Timothy Edokpolor. In letters dated September 4 and 6, 2024, addressed to their local party chairmen, the aides cited reasons such as salary delays and the marginalization of PDP’s aboriginal members.

Emenya, a former Youth Leader, and Edo-Osagie, former SSA in Oredo Local Government, revealed that their decision stemmed from the non-payment of salaries since their appointment and dissatisfaction with the party’s internal equity and fairness.

Dr. Pamela Archer, another official who resigned as Special Adviser to Owan East Local Government, expressed frustration with the lack of inclusiveness in governance at the local level. She highlighted concerns over decision-making processes that she felt ignored executive input, ultimately hindering effective governance.
