Mobile Court/Intervention Patrol

FRSC Ogun has introduced a mobile court and intervention patrol strategy to curb the increasing hazards on the expressway. This approach involves on-the-spot prosecution of offenders, emphasizing offenses such as dangerous driving, driving without a valid license, failure to install speed limit devices, use of worn-out or expired tires, driving under the influence, route violations, and more.

Addressing Human Factors

FRSC acknowledges that human factors, such as recklessness and negligence on the part of drivers, contribute significantly to the high rate of accidents. The intervention aims to sensitize the motoring public on safety precautions and create awareness about responsible driving practices.

Offenses Recorded and Prosecutions

The mobile court/ intervention patrol has already recorded various offenses, leading to the arrest and prosecution of drivers. Offenses include dangerous driving, lack of a valid driver’s license, failure to use speed limit devices in commercial vehicles, driving with worn-out or expired tires, driving under the influence, route violations, and more.

Ember Months Safety Campaign

The ongoing operation aligns with FRSC’s commitment to ensuring road safety during the upcoming ember months. The initiative seeks to reduce the number of road traffic accidents, injuries, and fatalities, especially as the holiday season approaches.

Encouraging Passenger Involvement

FRSC encourages passengers to actively participate in road safety by reporting any abnormalities. A toll-free number, 122, has been provided for passengers to report incidents and contribute to maintaining road safety.
