General Musa Launches New Joint Task Force: ‘Operation Fansan Yamma’ to Combat Banditry in Northwest Nigeria

Governor Dauda Lawal’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed the announcement was made during a visit by General Musa to the Government House in Gusau, Zamfara State. According to the statement, ‘Operation Fansan Yamma’ is a message of hope, symbolizing the military’s preparedness to eradicate banditry and restore peace in the troubled region.

Governor Dauda Lawal lauded the Chief of Defence Staff for his dedication to tackling insecurity. “My government is fully committed to working with the army and other security agencies to restore peace to Zamfara. With your efforts, I am confident peace will soon return.”

Governor Lawal also expressed condolences for the soldiers who lost their lives recently along the Gusau to Funtua road, reiterating his administration’s unwavering support for the military’s efforts.

General Musa thanked the governor for his steadfast support and praised the rapid development in the state under Governor Lawal’s leadership. He noted the significance of democracy in fostering growth and security, expressing optimism for continued collaboration between the state government and security forces to end banditry in the region.

This latest operation marks a critical step toward securing the Northwest and bringing stability to areas long plagued by bandit attacks.
