Speaking on Thursday during the inauguration of Eze Oha Apara Palace in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Fubara emphasized the importance of non-violent conflict resolution.

“No matter the level of provocation, try to control your temper. We don’t use fights to resolve fights. You use peace, apply it well, and employ the Artificial Intelligence method to defeat troublemakers,” the governor stated.

Tensions in Rivers State Politics

The governor’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over the political structure of Rivers State. Their disagreements have caused divisions within the State House of Assembly, with lawmakers aligning along loyalty lines.

Earlier this year, the conflict escalated when the State Assembly was bombed, further highlighting the political unrest. Despite President Bola Tinubu’s attempts to mediate, the rift between the two leaders remains unresolved.

Commitment to Peaceful Leadership

Governor Fubara’s call for peace underscores his leadership approach amid the ongoing political challenges. He reiterated his dedication to prioritizing the resources and interests of Rivers State over personal or political rivalries.
